Amy Alison Otstot May 16, 1961 - October 11, 2010

Sara and I would like to thank everyone that came to the funeral, sent us cards, contributed to our book of memories and sent us photos for the slide show. We especially want to thank my brother John and my sister Kathy for their work on the slide show and Kathy's many hours of work on the book of memories. This site would not be possible without their hard work. We would also like to thank Mother Sara Batson and the members of the Church of the Nativity for the wonderful service and reception.

I have created this site for the many friends of Alison that live throughout the world that were not able to attend the services. It was a day to celebrate Alison's life and many accomplishments.

Sara and I miss Alison deeply, but with the help of a large extended family and many friends we are coping with our loss.

Celebrating the life of Alison Otstot, Loving Mother, Wife and Friend.

Alison had a short life on this earth, but her accomplishments were great. She grew up in Madison, Wisconsin and at an early age she showed just how smart she was. She was in the theater, she played the flute, she was fluent in French, and was on the debate team. She has many friends in Wisconsin to this day as well as from every segment of her life....both professionally and personally. She was a good friend to have....

Alison was extremely smart and her academic achievements showed her intelligence. She received her doctorate in Health Informatics from Queensland University in Australia and earned her masters from Johns Hopkins.

In 1993, Alison married Scott Newman and, together, they created her greatest achievement - her daughter Sara. Being the best mother was her most important goal...and she was the best mother! Although Scott and Alison did not remain married, they remained friends and parents.

In 2004, Alison fell in love with Bill Otstot and they married in 2006. Thier love was the second most important thing to her in this world. Alison will be sorely missed, but we hope that today fills your heart with memories of Alison to take with you so that she is never forgotten.

Thank you for your love and support!

The Memorial Booklet

My sister Kathy Abernethy created the memorial booklet from all of the responses she received for memories of Alison. Here is the booklet for download in the booklet format and an 8-1/2 x 11 format. Each format consists of a cover page (Office 2003) and the booklet (PDF).
